The Kenmore State High School Interact Club is a student-led service and leadership group that empowers young people to make a positive difference in their community and beyond. Mentored and supported by the Rotary Club of Kenmore, students develop teamwork, leadership, communication, and project management skills while planning and delivering meaningful service initiatives.
Throughout the year, Interact members identify community needs, organise fundraising activities, and support projects at local, state, and international levels. Locally, students assist community organisations and provide backpacks containing essential stationery items for students who may need extra support. At the state level, they raise funds to support PAWS for Hope and Understanding and the Melaki Movement, which train PTSD support dogs for ex-defence personnel and first responders experiencing mental health challenges. Internationally, the club supports Ripples of Change Uganda, contributing to the construction of rainwater harvesting tanks that provide sustainable access to clean water for rural communities.
Through these projects, Interact members learn the value of service, develop lifelong leadership skills, and create positive change for others both within Australia and around the world.
