Professor Joanne Aitken is Head of the Viertel Cancer Research Centre at Cancer Council Queensland and Director of the Australian Childhood Cancer Registry. She has an Honorary Professorial appointment in the School of Public Health, The University of Queensland and Adjunct Professorial appointments at Queensland University of Technology and the University of Southern Queensland. Professor Aitken is actively involved in national and international cancer surveillance practice and policy. The object of Open Eyes Global, a NGO, is to raise funds to reduce the burden of cancer on individuals and families in Nepal. Dr Genevieve Nelson- CEO Kokoda Track Foundation Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) is an international development organisation working in Papua New Guinea, and supports communities in PNG overcome some of the tremendous challenges they face today. From a lack of adequate health care, to the half a million children who are unable to attend school because of the lack of teachers, resources, infrastructure and government capacity, KTF aims to make a tangible impact in their lives. It delivers evidence-based, development activities in the program areas of education, health, equality and leadership, and has helped in delivering Solar Buddy study lights to schools along the track. |

Tertiary Education PhD in Psychology-- University of Western Sydney. The socio-economic and psychological determinants of student academic outcomes in Papua New Guinea Bachelor of Psychology (Honours 1st Class)- University of Western Sydney Current Position Genevieve is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF). She is one of the founding directors of KTF and has been the CEO since January 2009. She is an expert in education in Papua New Guinea Genevieve and is an Adjunct Fellow with the University of QLD and has held previous adjunct fellowship roles with the Western Sydney University and Australian Catholic University. She has published extensively and presented at national and international conferences about her experience in PNG. and was the recipient of the 2016 Western Sydney University Chancellor’s Alumni Leadership Award and the Institute of Managers & Leaders 2017 NSW Not-for-Profit Leadership Excellence Award. Genevieve was a finalist in the 2013 Young Australian of the Year Awards, the 2012 Telstra Business Women's Awards and was named as one of the Westpac/Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence. She has walked the Kokoda Track 22 times.
